About Me

Hi, I’m Sia Neofotistos Rutherford, LMSW and I’m glad that you found my page! I have always known that I wanted to live my life helping others and have been doing so for nearly 20 years. I graduated with a BA in psychology in 2008 and worked in a high school from 2005-2011.

In 2011, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in social work and shift my focus on mental health by working in a crisis stabilization program as a case manager. From 2011 to 2016 I worked in a variety of programs including adult case management, children’s case management, and co-occurring case management.  I graduated with my master’s degree in social work in 2014 and became fully licensed (LMSW) in 2016.

In 2017 I began working as a therapist and it was not long after that I discovered therapy was my passion and what I wanted to do for the rest of my career. I have a certificate in sex therapy through the University of Michigan and have completed several trainings in: Client Centered/Strength Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, cultural competency and SOGI (sexual orientation/gender identify) safe practices. My personal and professional experiences have provided me the opportunity to work with individuals and families that are impacted by many different diagnoses and socio/cultural factors.

I am thankful to my clients for allowing me to be a part of their journey and trusting me to help them; I look forward to helping you, too! Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
